The Cottage Events Venue is conveniently located just three-quarters of a mile east of I-5 Exit 174 in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Housed in an award-winning passive solar building, it is a versatile and intimate event space like no other. Each event at The Cottage benefits from owner Kim Still’s many years of event management experience. She is happy to assist and advise your planning and set up, and is on site during your rental to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

The Facility

  • 1600 sq. ft. of public space, check for current capacity according to State COVID-19 rules.
  • 400 sq. ft. licensed commercial kitchen with basic equipment and tools.
  • Outdoor patio with porch coverage and grape arbor.
  • Four large doors open for indoor/outdoor event options.
  • Beautiful natural light from the solar building’s zig-zagging wall of south facing windows.
  • On site free parking.

Equipment

  • Basic party equipment on site, including ten 60” round tables, ten 8’ long rectangular tables and eighty chocolate brown upholstered banquet chairs.
  • A full complement of dishware, silverware and glassware.
  • Tablecloths and napkins for rent in a variety of colors.
  • 46” flat screen on rolling cart.
  • 1928 Kimball upright piano.
  • Flexible sound system – speakers only or with eight channel sound board and microphones.
  • Variety of decorative glass plates, vases, candlesticks , flameless tapers and votives.

Features

  • The Venue has a limited on-premises license to serve beer, wine and cider and allows all ages during events – coordinate details in advance with management.
  • We do not allow “bring your own” events or self-service, and food must be available. We will plan this aspect of your event with you, price will vary depending on your needs. For events that serve alcohol, we require renters to add Cottage Enterprises LLC as additional insured on a homeowner’s, renter’s or stand alone liability insurance policy.
  • Decorate as you wish – ivory walls and brown trim make the perfect blank canvas.
  • Plan to use masking tape, scotch tape, wall putty or Command strips to attach decorations to the wall and or ceiling - no duct tape, nails or staples allowed. We have these available, just ask. Due to fire regulations, live lit candles are not allowed. We have flameless tapers and votives available on request.
  • Flexible food options! Bring your own, hire a caterer, or use in house catering. Let's talk about it...

Rates

Space Rental: Minimum rental is $200 for 2 hours. Each additional hour is $75. Tables and chairs are set out for you per your requirements. 30 minutes set up time allowed at no charge, extra set up time at $35 per hour. Price includes 60” round and/or 8’ rectangular tables, chairs, dishware, cutlery and glassware, kitchen access. Dishes are washed by Cottage staff person, you gather trash, take your things and stack chairs before leaving. Set-up the day before is $200, for as many hours as needed.

Deposits/Payments:

A $100 deposit is required upon booking to hold the date. The balance of payment is due 14 days before the event, or upon booking if less than 14 days until event.

Cancellations:

Full refund if the event is canceled up to 21 days before the event, or due to Government mandated COVID restrictions. Cancellation fee of $100 plus the cost of any rented linens will be subtracted from the refund if the event is canceled 20 days or less before the event.

Floor Plan

Because The Cottage was designed as a passively heated and cooled solar building, it is far from your standard boring box-shape space. The unique floor layout features a zig-zagging wall of south facing windows that makes it feel comfortable and intimate for even small groups. While the space can accommodate up to 110 seated guests, even a small group of 10-20 can feel comfortable in the space. The available floor layout pdf has some suggested table and chair arrangements, as well as a blank plan with to-scale table/chair sets on the side that you can print and play with to achieve the optimum arrangement for your particular event.
